A personal trainer will help you achieve your fitness goals quicker than you can on your own.  But before choosing a personal trainer you should ask the following questions:

  • Is the personal trainer registered through the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs), and at least to level 3 standard?
  • Does he/she have public liability insurance?
  • Do they practise what they preach?  Would you go to a fat personal trainer if you wanted to lose weight?
  • Do they seem to be somebody that you can get on with and will trust?

If the answer to any of the above questions is no, then you need to choose a different personal trainer.
